Healthy Resources

Today’s children are at a greater risk of developing obesity-related health problems than any other generation before them. According to the American Obesity Association, 45 percent of children ages 6 to 19 are overweight or obese. While it’s important for families to take steps to prevent childhood obesity, the community can also play a role in creating a healthier environment for our children.

Since 2002, the Childhood Obesity Regional Strategy Committee has been convening to find community-wide solutions to help address the issues of childhood obesity. Please join us in recognizing them for their participation in this landmark event.
